Union Softball State Champions

It was a warm, sunny day in May at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. The Union Redskins slow pitch softball team accepted their trophy for winning Academic State Champions. Several hours later, they defeated Westmoore to win the team’s first ever state title on the field.
Union was matched up with Jenks in the first round and won easily 10-3.
In the second round, the Redskins faced perennial powerhouse Moore. Union edged Moore 6-4 for a chance to play for the state championship.
In the championship game, Union was paired against nine-time state champions Westmoore. Westmoore proved to be no match for the Redskins, who won 6-2.
