YouthArts! to Begin in April
Union will host the 31st annual YouthArts! April 19 through May 1, which is one of the state’s longest running arts festivals, showcasing the artistry of Union students.
YouthArts! provides a showcase platform for students outside of the classroom, featuring visual art from every school from paintings to drawings to photography to ceramics in an exhibit at the UMAC.
The two-week festival will also be featuring performing arts. High School drama students will present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a musical comedy, at 7 p.m., April 26 through May 1 at the High School Studio Theater. Intermediate High School drama students will present the Night of January 16th at 7 p.m. April 29 through May 1 at the Intermediate High School. Tickets to the plays are $3 for students and $5 for adults.
Other performances scheduled include: Combined Orchestras, 7 p.m., Monday, April 19, UMAC; 6-12th Grade Vocals, 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, UPAC; High School Percussion, 7 p.m., Friday, April 23, UPAC; Competitive Speech Showcase, 6:30 p.m., Friday, High School; 6th/7th Grade Band and Jazz Band, 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, UPAC; High School/8th Grade Bands, 7 p.m. Thursday, April 29, UPAC and Winter Guard, after band concert, April 29, High School gym.
