CHEERFUL GIVING: The Union cheerleaders enjoyed choosing gifts to place under the Salvation Army Angel Tree this month.
The spirit department at Union believes that student athletes should give back to the community.
In the past the cheerleaders have taught a variety of clinics at elementary schools, volunteered at Race for the Cure and worked in the clothing closet.
This year, the girls decided to shop for an angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree. They realize that many times it is harder for the older angels to get adopted so they selected a girl their age. The squad was so excited to help provide gifts for their angel.
The girls are also looking forward to the Universal Cheer Association Nationals Competition, which will take place in Orlando, Fla. Feb. 12-14.
