Intrusion in Union

DANIEL C. CAMERON for Union Boundary

Residents of a quiet neighborhood in the Union district near 81st Street and Mingo Road were stunned when they were intruded upon by the Sonoma Grande Apartments, which engulf the back yards of many of the once pristine houses.

An apparent quirk in Tulsa zoning laws allowed the construction, much to the chagrin of irate neighbors.

  1. I would have to disagree that this construction was allowed via a “quirk”. If it was a quirk that allowed this construction would the city and city council create a new task force to review ALL processes related to PUD development. It is my belief that the City & City Council sees that the PUD process is broken. We keep hearing “we won’t allow this to happen again” but that does not resolve the current issue called Sonoma Grande.
