As giant fluffy flakes fell from the skies on Jan. 31, the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Eastside Market, located at 11201 71st St., moved forward with a Spirit Night for the Moore Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association. Despite the harsh weather, the organization received nearly $300 for their Spirit Night participation. According to school officials, it’s the most money Moore Elementary has ever raised in a three-hour time period just for enjoying each other’s company and good food.
Teachers and students were provided incentives to attend and support their school with a little friendly competition. Each class was challenged to show the most school spirit by having the highest number of attendees during the event. Each student from the winning class received a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A Kids Meal and the teacher received a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A Combo Meal.
During Spirit Nights, the restaurant donates a percentage of its sales to the participating schools and organizations and engages customers in a wide variety of activities. Besides playing the Chick-fil-A Spinning Wheel Game for a number of prizes, the ever-popular Chick-fil-A “Eat Mor Chikin” Cow has been known to make surprise appearances to mingle and take photos with the crowd.
