Seven Representatives from six businesses signed “Declaration of Partnerships” with Webster High School Thursday. A few ties to Greater Tulsa Reporter Newspapers from the event include GTR Associate Editor Charles Cantrell and GTR Art Director Bryan Cantrell. Both signed their companies to a partnership pledge, which is a document that officially ties the newsgroup with Webster.

Signing for the school were Webster’s Principal, along with Elizabeth Inks, the president of the BPA (Business Professionals of America). Business representatives were Dr. Jamie Fullerton of OSU Tulsa’s School of Journalism and Broadcasting, Mary Dickson of OSU Okmulgee Information Technology, Anna Brown of the Tulsa County News, Bryan Cantrell of BC Graphic Design, Martha Cullinan Cantrell and Charles Cantrell of the Cantrell Marketing Group, LMC, and Joy Jenkins of Tulsa People Magazine.

There are many wonderful things that these companies will do for Webster but the immediate plan is to help the school’s transition to a media magnet school, determining the curriculum for next school year, and helping students prepare for journalism, broadcasting and marketing on a college or market-ready level. Anna Brown says, “This is what it’s all about for us, to be a service to this school’s community.” Martha Cantrell says she is involved because she “would like to see the community and the students benefit from each other and would love to see Webster take off.”

Each of their partnerships is appreciated greatly and held with high hopes they will bring a bright and beautiful future to Webster.
