The Tulsa Comets hockey team is not officially under the guise of Tulsa Public Schools, but the team is an amalgamated mesh of guys from all over the district and several private schools. This team absolutely dominated the city hockey league all season, scoring 98 goals on its opponents while holding them to a mere 39.
The Comets are a very talented team and are well coached by ex-Oiler Chris Simms. The Comets scored twice as many points than did second place Jenks at the end of the regular season, which consisted of 15 games.
The Comets took runner up in the city championships behind Jenks and were gracious in defeat, with their coaches congratulating each player during the handshake afterward.
Basketball season was awesome this year. Booker T. Washington was stupendous all season as was defending state champs Memorial and East Central. The Edison Eagles took runner up at state after losing a nail-biter to Guthrie. The Booker T. Washington ladies basketball team won its second straight state title.
