YMCA CEO Speaks at Chamber

The March Chamber Luncheon featured Susan Plank, CEO of the Greater Tulsa YMCA on March 5. She spoke about her background with the YMCA, what local Y’s have to offer Owasso citizens and answered questions.

Plank began her responsibilities as the CEO of the YMCA of Greater Tulsa in February 2000 after seven years as the Senior Vice President of Operations for the YMCA in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Previously Plank worked in both Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas in various YMCA Association positions. Her career with the YMCA spans 27 years. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado-Boulder, received her master’s degree from the University of Iowa and completed doctoral course work at the University of North Texas.

Plank has served as the president of the Rest River Chapter of APD and has served on the National Board Nominating Committee, YMCA University Advisory Committee and Activate America Steering Committee. She is currently serving on the North Amerian YMCA Development Organization Council.

Plank has taught supervision for the YMCA for more than 15 years. She is a graduate of both the Leadership Fort Worth and Pikes Peak Leadership programs. She has also been a Rotarian for over 15 years.

Plank is a nation of Peoria, Ill., and she and her husband Doug have been married 29 years and have two children, Adam, 24, and Abby, 21.
