The Oklahoma Aquarium brought home two awards for excellence in state tourism including the coveted honor of Outstanding Attraction. This is the second time in five years of operation that the Aquarium has been awarded this title.

The Arrow of Light Ceremony was held at Jenks Southeast Elementary to commemorate the achievements of the Cub Scout members that earned the Arrow of Light badge: Tyler Traino, Bennett Hughes, Joshua Burdick, Lonny Grigsby, Evan Eisenmenger Drew Hinkle, Braxton Delewski, Jacob Johnson, and Grayson Garmaker, Daniel Archer, Bobby Davis and Reese Hatheway.
The Seventeenth Annual Jenks Vocal Music Holiday Home Tour, “Happily Ever After,” is Dec. 7 from 1-5 p.m. This year’s featured homes are: Clayton and Gina Hughes, 2109 W. 73rd St. in Angel Wing Estates; Charlie and Krista Bendana, 12005 S. Kingston, in Crestwood; Doug and Kristi Self, 3628 E. 115th St. in The Estates of Waterstone; and Kevin and Tammy Hern, 11455 S. Louisville Pl., in The Estates of Waterstone.
It took Jenks Film students 52 tapes and about 50 hours of exclusive footage of the Tulsa Ballet to make the one-hour documentary “One Step at a Time,” which will be airing on OETA, The Oklahoma Network Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 9:30-10:30 p.m.
Students in Clifton Rapheal’s film classes at Jenks High School have been working on “One Step at a Time,” since August 2007, including editing over the summer this year.
Jenks played a stellar second half and came back from a 17-3 deficit to take the game into overtime.
Matt McCoy, Jenks Class of 1999, is the 2008 Trojan inductee to the Backyard Bowl Hall of Fame.
