James Holder to Compete in Greece
JAMES HOLDER
James Holder, a 2010 Jenks graduate, will represent the Nation as a Team USA member at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece next year.
Holder competed in the Oklahoma Special Olympics, doing very well with a gold medal in the Two-mile run and a silver medal in the One-mile run.
At Nationals in Nebraska, Holder won bronze in the Six-mile run, Gold in the Two-mile run, fourth in the 5K and ran the first leg of the 4×100m relay gold medal team just 20 minutes after his gold in the Two-mile event.
Holder has since been selected to compete with Team USA in Greece. He will train in San Diego with Team USA beginning in March.
Holder will compete in the Half Marathon event on the streets of Athens.
The Special Olympics World Summer Games in Greece will be held June 18 through July 5, 2011.
