Pieces in Place for Jenks Domination

With Coach Allan Trimble back in the driver’s seat at Hunter-Dwelley Stadium, things seem to be right where they need to be.
One thing missing is ten-year Offensive Coordinator Loren Montgomery. Montgomery has moved on to become the head football coach at Bixby. When Montgomery stepped in to take the helm of one of the most powerful 6A football teams in 2009, he was outright brilliant, taking his Trojans to state even through a whole lot of drama. Jenks will host Bixby for the season opener and the Spartans 6A football debut.
Trimble says, “It is exciting to be back.” By now, he has had a chance to get through all the interviews and catch up on emails and phone messages. Sure enough, he has had no trouble catching up with his team. The Trojans are busy with camps and conditioning workouts.
Now that things are cozy again in the Sharp Center, it is easier to take a look forward to next year’s team. Returning to the gridiron are quarterback Sawyer Kollmorgen and running back Zack Langer. These two are likely the top quarterback and running back in the state.
Langer had 2,346 yards in 2009 with 38 touchdowns. He has verbally committed to Tulsa. Kollmorgen threw for 2,564 yards, averaging 183.1 yards per game and a completion percentage of .647. He accounted for 24 touchdowns.
