Liz Wright Supports the Community
Three CareerTech educators from Oklahoma took top honors April 8-10 at the National Association for Career and Technical Education Regional IV Convention in San Antonio.
Oklahoma’s ACTE award recipients are Outstanding Career and Technical Educator, Jeanette Capshaw, Moore Norman Technology Center, Norman; Outstanding New Career and Technical Teacher, Buddy Neasbitt, Great Plains Technology Center, Lawton and Outstanding Teacher in Community Service, Liz Wright, Jenks Public Schools.
These individuals exemplify the best Oklahoma’s CareerTech system has to offer. They will now move on to compete nationally in December, where in last year’s competition Oklahoma and Region IV won all of the top awards in the nation given to CareerTech Educators by ACTE.
These CareerTech professionals are just a few of the over 3,660 members in our association which display tireless effort in developing the finest workforce in the land. Our outstanding winners display the attitudes and desires to go above and beyond to give students the best options for success as they leave the award-winning programs.
The ACTE Outstanding Teacher in Community Service recognizes teachers with significant accomplishments and outstanding leadership in programs and activities that promote community involvement. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward training, motivating, and inspiring their peers and students to become involved in programs and projects that benefit their communities.
