Business Professionals of America Fulfill Troops Wishes
MEANINGFUL GIFTS: The Business Professionals of America Chapter from Tulsa Tech is teaming up with Blue Star Mothers to help grant the wishes of troops by sending them much needed items for the holidays.
The Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter from Tulsa Tech, Riverside Campus recently organized a supply drive to help the Blue Star Mothers fulfill the wish list of the troops overseas during the holiday season. The students are asking the Jenks community to help them accomplish this by donating items from the troop wish list. A variety of items make up the wish list including hand warmers, thank you cards, newspapers, books, magazines, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, toothbrushes, toothpaste, boot socks, wash cloths, Lysol wipes and sewing kits. The BPA students were at Reasors and Walgreens in Jenks Nov. 14 handing out the troop wish list. This way, residents did their shopping, pick up a few items for the troops and drop them off on the way out.
Additional addresses of family or friends overseas may be sent to Blue Star Mothers at P.O. Box 56 Mounds, OK 74047. This will ensure that they will receive a Freedom Box during this holiday season.This mailing information will be kept private.
Items can be dropped off at the Student Center, Tulsa Tech, Riverside Campus, 801 E. 91st from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
