Herb and Plant Festival April 26

The 12th Annual Jenks Herb and Plant Festival plans are underway to make this year’s event on April 26 bigger and better than ever.

The Jenks Herb & Plant Festival takes place at 2nd and A Streets. The event is family friendly, free and begins at 7:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast served by the Jenks Kiwanis Club at the First Baptist Church. Shopping starts at 8 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. Vendors and growers from a four-state area come with a wide variety of herbs, flowers and shrubs that are adapted to local area weather and soil conditions but not always found in local nurseries.

Added family attractions include the children’s area, complete with clowns, puppet shows and games; a tour of a Jenks Fire Department fire engine; and the Garden Railroaders. The whole atmosphere is electric with lively musical entertainment.
Festival food is another important aspect and includes Amish baked goods.

A special feature this year the Creek County Master Gardeners will be on hand all day to answer all your questions. Jenks offers its shoppers a special feature, the Drop and Shop, where patrons can leave purchases and come back later.
