Tulsa, Oklahoma –– Glenn Andrews has been excused from The University of Tulsa basketball team it was announced today.
The 6’2” guard from Alexandria, Virginia is in his junior season with the Golden Hurricane. Andrews has played in 79 career games and has career averages of 7.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists, while shooting 34-percent from the field. He averaged 3.5 points in Tulsa’s first two games this season.
“Obviously, the timing is not the best, but this is the appropriate decision for this basketball team and Glenn. This is incredibly unfortunate. Although, this will give Glenn the best opportunity to rehabilitate his knee and if he desires to start fresh at another institution and gain potentially a sixth year of eligibility,” said Head Coach Doug Wojcik.
Andrews suffered an ACL injury in the spring of 2009 and received a medical hardship last year. He re-injured his knee in Tulsa’s game against Oral Roberts on Tuesday.
