Area Private Schools Gear Up for 2010-2011




As part of GTR’s back to school issue, here is a look at 10 area private schools that include high school:

Augustine Christian Academy
Since 1997, Augustine Christian Academy has been dedicated to preparing students for taking the lead in their lives, educations and communities.

Augustine Christian Academy provides both a challenging and supportive curriculum to students in elementary through high school levels.

Core subjects include history, math, English, science, music, art and literature. Additionally, a variety of other courses are offered to students such as rhetoric, Greek, Hebrew and economics.

Emphasized values of the school are testimony, truth and transformation.

Bishop Kelley High School
Founded in 1960, Bishop Kelley continues to impact the lives of students throughout the area.

The school’s mission is to provide a quality Catholic education to encourage commitment to the service of others.

There are nearly 900 students enrolled in Bishop Kelley High School.

Students are offered a variety of classes that tailor to many talents and interests. Course subjects include theology, math, English, science, business, social studies, communication, fine arts, computers, foreign language and physical education.
Annually, students contribute more than 25,000 hours of community service to the greater Tulsa area.

Cascia Hall Preparatory School
Cascia Hall Preparatory School has offered quality instruction for students in grades 6 through twelve since establishment in 1926.

Programs within the institution are designed to educate each student spiritually, emotionally, psychologically and intellectually in order to bring a deep understanding of the life and talents that God has given them.

The curriculum is comprised of English, math, science, social studies, theology, foreign language, fine arts, general electives and advanced placement courses.
Following graduation, 100 percent of the students that attended Cascia Hall Preparatory School attend college.

Holland Hall
Holland Hall has been providing a comprehensive education that promotes critical thinking and an eagerness for a lifetime of learning since its foundation in 1922.

Students in PreK through high school are given the opportunity to take unique courses and experience the act of reaching out to our community as well as those around the world.

Current enrollment includes 342 primary, 320 middle and 306 upper school students. The student to faculty ratio is 10:1.

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education recently recognized Holland Hall for superior college preparation.

Metro Christian Academy
Metro Christian Academy was established in 1983 as the only interdenominational college preparatory school in the area.

A variety of intriguing courses are offered from elementary through secondary grade levels.

Metro Christian Academy’s core curriculum focuses on science, history, math and English. Other enriching subjects include art, music and physical education.

In addition, spiritual life courses bring the opportunity for students to reach out to the world. A sister school located in Honduras is visited once a year by students in these courses.

Rejoice Christian School
Rejoice Christian School was founded in 1992 with the mission of providing students with excellence in education and strength in character.

Nationally ranked in the top 10 percent of all academic institutions, Rejoice Christian School offers a challenging curriculum for students in pre3 through twelfth grade.

The elementary level courses are held at 12413 E. 106th St. N., while middle and high school students attend the 12200 E. 86th St. N. location.

Rejoice Christian Schools is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and Oklahoma Private Schools Accreditation Commission as well as recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Riverfield Country Day School
Riverfield Country Day School was established in 1984 and has since grown into a unique institution that provides just as unique of an education to students.

The philosophy of Riverfield Country Day School is to provide students with an innovative education that values individual strengths and challenges.

The surrounding 120 beautiful acres are incorporated into every aspect of the school. Learning most often takes place outside and students have the opportunity to experience the country just outside of busy Tulsa.

Riverfield Country Day School offers comprehensive curriculums designed for preschool through high school levels.

Summit Christian Academy
Summit Christian Academy was established in 1987 and serves students from kindergarten through high school.

There are currently over 500 students enrolled in Summit Christian Academy. Dedicated teachers and rigorous lesson plans prepare students to achieve academic excellence and reach their personal potential.

The institution is fully accredited by the North Central Association, Association of Christian Teachers and Schools as well as by the International Christian Accredited Association. The Oklahoma State Department of Education also recognizes Summit Christian Academy.

Victory Christian School
The mission of Victory Christian School is to provide an education that spans students in a spiritual, academic and physical sense.

The curriculum is designed for levels K3 through high school. In addition to core courses, a diverse art program is offered at Victory Christian School. Students are given the opportunity to participate in local, state and national art competitions. 
There are a variety of educational activities that are available for students to participate in. Some of the activities include Academic Bowl, Key Club, National Honor Society and Missions.

Wright Christian Academy
Wright Christian Academy was established in 1989 as a quality educational ministry.

Emphasized is the idea that learning and growth are done best in a community environment. Students in pre-k through high school levels are taught to work together and become people of influence in the world.

Over 95 percent of graduates from Wright Christian Academy attend college.
Wright Christian Academy is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, Private Christian School Commis-sion and is recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
