Cedar Ridge Pays Tribute to Veterans
MAKING MEMORIES: The first Making Memories Party at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living Center of Broken Arrow was planned as a special tribute to the military veterans residing at the facility. Hosted by resident Wilma Son and Naval Petty Officer Brandon Son, on leave, the formal coffee offered a delectable menu from Ms. Son’s personal recipes. Emceeing the event was special guest Col. Robert Powell, curator of Tulsa’s Museum of Military History.
Veterans of Cedar Ridge displayed pictures of themselves in uniform. Stories were shared of weekend leaves, recipes famous during rationing and comparing “mail-call” to e-mail. A coat rack displayed uniforms from WWII and the Korean War. Col. R. W. Powell of the Museum brought interesting artifacts for people to enjoy. The following United States Veterans received sincere appreciation of all that attended and a framed certificate of appreciation.
