Hard times do not discriminate. They have no boundaries. It doesn’t matter what your race or nationality is or whether you are affluent or impoverished. In the end it affects us all and at times it’s hard to see the lights at the end of the fashion runway, which we call life.

Sound like bad news? Nothing is good or bad. It’s all in your attitude.

What comes around goes around. It can only get better. Change is inevitable.
Ok I’m sick of maxims. Let’s get to the point already!

In these times us shopaholics, delayed gratification haters and the general fashionista that wants what we want when we want it, have to do a little finagling in order to keep ourselves strutting that catwalk from season to season.

I wanted to share some things with you that while working with clients have been beneficial to them for surviving the credit crunch, while capitalizing on their dollars and the same time still being the pinnacle of style.

Fosters 10 Secrets to creating brand new looks utilizing what you already have:

1. Only purchase items inexpensively if it is a trend for the season.
2. Only purchase that item if you can layer it and wear it four to five different ways.
3. Figure out how to layer that item four to five different ways.
4. Utilize accessories to achieve No. 3.
5. Use scarves, belts, tees, crisp white shirts big earrings and long layering necklaces to employ No. 4.
6. Layer, Layer, Layer!
7. Different look, same clothing, diversify shoes.
8. Leggings, skinny jeans, boots, booties and ballet flats develop No.7
