ORU to Hold Free Christmas Concert



Oral Roberts University will host a free Christmas celebration concert, titled The Wonder that is Christmas, on Dec. 6. The concert is open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m. at the ORU Mabee Center. The concert will feature Christian guests Kelly Ford, Brian Nhira, Jason Swanson, and the Victory and Lincoln Christian Children’s Choirs performing with the ORU orchestra and choir.

Admission is free with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy to the Salvation Army through the ORU Cheerleader’s Bring Good Cheer toy drive.

A free Christmas carnival for all ages will begin at 6:15 p.m. prior to the start of the concert. The carnival will include holiday games, hands-on activities and free pictures with Santa Claus.

Kelly Ford is a member of SEVEN and has opened for many dignitaries and celebrities including: President George H.W. Bush, President George W. Bush, Colin Powell, Lee Iacocca, Paul Harvey and Charlton Heston.

Brian Nhira has sang at more than 500 events in 14 states and in three countries, including a performance at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Jason Swanson is a composer and arranger who constantly pushes the limits to the sounds that an acoustic guitar can produce. Audiences enjoy his eclectic mix of styles and innovative versions of pop, rock and jazz numbers.
