Broken Arrow seniors are taking a step forward while looking back on the memories that they have made while attending Broken Arrow High School. From their very first day of class to their last, seniors have experienced a number of positive changes that the school has undergone.

Originally from Clinton, Miss., Bryce Brown has enjoyed living in Broken Arrow since he was five years old. Kindergarten was his first experience in Broken Arrow Public Schools and he is thankful for the doors that have been opened to him through his education.

Broken Arrow High School is one of the largest in the state. With the size comes a variety of opportunities for students. Brown says, “There are so many unique classes that are offered here due to the number of teachers and interested students.”

Students have been offered an increase in classes over the last two years that enable them to earn college credit. Brown comments, “I have learned that it is very important to do your best academically. I am in Calculus right now and it has been really helpful for me. I want to be an engineer and I know that this class will help me when I enter college.”

Student organizations are a source of pride for Broken Arrow High School. The Senior Board has been one of the most influential new organizations for students. Formed to encourage students to feel a source of Tiger Pride, members enjoy planning traditional activities throughout the year.

One of the largest changes that current seniors have experienced was the completion of the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center in May of 2009. The state-of-the-art facility provided much needed room for administrative offices and conference areas. In addition, the building has brought with it the opportunity for students to bring new life to their performances as well as enjoy national acts that borrow the stage on a regular basis.

Brown has enjoyed running on the Cross Country team for the last two years. “This year was really exciting for the team because we just won state.”

Seniors also had the opportunity to bring home the first state wrestling championship title this year. The Tigers haven’t captured the title since 2002 and varsity wrestlers could not have imagined a better way to end their time at Broken Arrow High School.

With so many changes in both the appearance and academics of Broken Arrow High School, the number of students enrolling every year has continued to grow. “The school has grown a lot over the last couple of years. It almost seems like the number of students have doubled during that time. The Cross Country team has even become larger, which has been really good for the program. There seems to be a lot more involvement in organizations and sports from the students.”
