Celebrating Success

Arrow Springs Elementary celebrated its 30th birthday in grand style with a party that gave current students, parents and staff an opportunity to renew acquaintances or meet for the first time former students and staff who returned to the Arrow Springs campus for the big event to enjoy birthday cake and three decades of memories.

“We were so thrilled with the great turnout of former students and staff for our 30th Birthday Celebration,” Arrow Springs Principal Karla Dyess says.

Dyess adds that having former Arrow Springs Principals Dr. Joe Crowder, Dr. Mary Jane Bias and Larry Smith on hand for the party along with many past Arrow Springs teachers and staff members made the event even more special. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Gary Gerber and former Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Clarence Oliver, Jr. also took part in the event.

“We were honored to have Dr. Gerber and Dr. Oliver and our former school administrators and staff members here.” Dyess continues, “It is a true testament to the lasting positive effects of Arrow Springs and their connection to this special school and district. The evening was inspirational.”

One of the most inspiring and memorable moments of the event came when Arrow Springs music teacher Sally Clark, who has been on the faculty since the day the school opened, invited former Eagleaires in the audience to join the current Eagleaires student choir on stage for a couple of songs.
