The Broken Arrow City Council voted unanimously to hire Dave Wooden as city manager at the Dec. 1 council meeting.
Wooden has been the Acting City Manager since June 1, 2009. “I am very honored that the city council expressed this trust in my ability to manage the city,” says City Manager Dave Wooden. “I will work diligently to keep City services at the highest possible levels while maintaining the fiscal responsibility necessary in these hard economic times. Service to the community is only possible through the efforts of the city’s hard working employees and their welfare will be considered in all of my decisions.”
The council stated Wooden’s performance has received very positive feedback during the last five months. His appointment will provide workforce management stability and will also result in an estimated cost savings of $170,000, as the Assistant city manager position would remain vacant during this timeframe.
