The Tulsa County 4-H Foundation has transitioned into the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation–Tulsa County to better serve the club’s population within Tulsa County. Oklahoma 4-H is kicking off the new 2008 campaign “Invest in a Bright Green Future” to sustain the scholarship/event funding program for the Tulsa County 4-H Youth Development program.
Today’s lifestyle is fast paced and moving non-stop. Tulsans may not have time to volunteer and experience firsthand what 4-H does for all ages, but they can help monetarily. Money donated will go towards building a sustainable scholarship/event program. 4-H can be the key that helps youth for generations to come to learn about leadership, citizenship, self-discovery, life skills and more. By providing money for the County program, donors will also be helping 4-H members specifically in the Broken Arrow area involved in the Discovery 4-H club.
The value of education beyond high school is important for future leaders. By giving youth the opportunity to grow and experience over 60 project areas, 4-H Clubs give them independence, belonging, generosity and mastery. This gives them the ability and desire to pursue an education beyond high school, excel in the growing business world and be a better citizen.
The Oklahoma 4-H Foundation–Tulsa County has an overall annual budget of $25,000-$30,000 depending on programming and funding. The Tulsa County 4-H Achievement Banquet and programming/events for ages five to 19 is funded by money raised by the organization formally known as the Tulsa County 4-H Foundation.
