What’s your idea of a dream car? A sporty new convertible? A luxury sedan with all the extras? Or maybe an SUV with seating for all your the family and friends?
The chance to win the vehicle of your dreams is with the 2005 Bixby Dream Car Raffle. Starting July 7, the Bixby Chamber will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a car with an MSRP up to $53,000 from Jackie Cooper Imports of Tulsa.
“Only 1,000 tickets will be sold at $100 each, so the odds of winning are phenomenal,” said Deb Marshall, Executive Director of the Bixby Chamber of Commerce. “Buy early and buy often to increase your chances of being the Grand Prize winner!”
Anyone over the age of 21 is eligible to buy the raffle tickets, which can be purchased by calling the Bixby Chamber at 918-366-9445, stopping by the chamber office at 113 West Dawes in Bixby, or you can buy online at www.bixbychamber.com. Proceeds from the fundraising raffle will support operations, programs and various community/business services offered by the Chamber.
“The Bixby Chamber is excited to be one of the first nonprofits in the Tulsa area to attempt a large-scale raffle since the state laws regarding lotteries changed last year,” said Marshall. “Raffles can be a great staple of nonprofit fundraising, and we’re hoping to make this an annual event for our organization.”
In the past, raffles had been banned in Oklahoma due to laws against gambling and lotteries, but raffles are now legal for nonprofit organizations because of legislation tied to the Oklahoma Educational Lottery Act.
The drawing for the dream car is October 7, and the winner does not need to be present to win. Winner may choose between a $53,000 MSRP vehicle or $35,000 cash, and is responsible for all applicable taxes and fees associated with the prize.
To help kick off the fundraising event, a special party was hosted by Jackie Cooper Imports at 93rd and Memorial on July 7. Be the first to buy your tickets, register to win great door prizes, and check out all the choices of dream cars. If all 1,000 tickets sell out early, the drawing may be held before October 7.
